Hockeytown is still bitter over the Shea Weber incident and even more so now that he’s scored the first power play goal of the series for the Nashville Predators. I don’t necessarily want to go as far as to say that this is a must win for the Red Wings tonight, but if they’re wanting to at least see a game 6 in Detroit then it certainly is indeed.
As mentioned in a previous article, every goal counts for something more during this time of year. Evidence has already shown within this particular series (between Detroit and Nashville) as each game has ended with a score of 3-2. Detroit had an outstanding 40+ shots on goal in game three but Rinne continued his dominance in net for the Predators saving all but two of them. I’m confident Detroit will come out very hungry tonight. Hungry because they do indeed want to extend their Stanley Cup Playoff lives’ even further, and also because they know how much their fans love them.
I see this being the first game of the series that really breaks open on the scoreboard. At least a 4-1 final score or something of that caliber, and as a fan of the Red Wings myself I certainly hope that we’re on the winning edge of that outcome.
So Hockeytown fans don’t give up hope just yet (as I know you won’t). The Red Wings are still alive and well!
Two teams from other first round series around the league, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Los Angeles Kings lead their opponents 3-0. Both teams are making a solid statement against formidable teams (Vancouver, Pittsburgh). Now these series have yet to wrap up, but it is starting to look desperate for some of the NHL’s elite players such as Sidney Crosby.
Referring back to the Detroit vs Nashville matchup tonight, I believe that if the Red Wings can kill the penalty as well as they have in recent games they’ll come out on top. It also wouldn’t hurt if Rinne is a little off tonight as well. Well that’s today folks. Thanks for reading and go Detroit Red Wings!!!!!!!!!
