Lets all take this time to take a deep breath and exhale the stress from the free agent frenzy this year. From Suter and Parise to Rick 
Nash, this off season has definitley been one to either enjoy or anguish you, depending on the team you bleed for.
For my Tampa Bay Lightning, yes MY, I have enjoyed this offseason thoroughly. We acquired goaltender, Anders Lindback, from the Nashville Predators, and top tier defensmen, Matt Carle and Sami Salo. While I know these players are assets to this team, the pickups left me thinking….what will they offer to this Tampa Bay Lightning Team.
Anders Lindback really gives me hope for this season. After the horrible, disgusting, embarrassing play of Dwayne “needs to retire” Roloson, I am very ready to see a goalie this year take our team from dead last in save percentage and goals against, to hopefully top 15, a girl can dream right?
What I first noticed about Lindback was he is a big man. His 6 foot 6 frame is enough to block almost all the net…so I am expecting at the least .999% saved shots. Not too much to ask right? Hopefully Lindback can show that even though he played behind Rinne for basically all of his career, he has the ability to take the #1 goaltending position and take away every question any player, coach, or fan will ever have in the net. Although, I don’t know much about this goalie I really loved this signing and believe Lindback has a lot to offer.
Next time, I will tackle on the new acquistions on defense of Carle and Salo who basically took the place of Brett Clark and Bruno Gervais…who have apparently never been trained in the game of hockey. I have high hopes for this season.
